CRA automobile allowance rates
Built-in defaults are the CRA 2025 rate: $0.72/km for the first 5,000 business km in the year, $0.66/km after that. CRA updates these rates — check the current rate at canada.ca and edit here if it has changed. The built-in numbers are a starting point, not a guarantee.
Tip: in the print dialog, choose "Save as PDF" to keep a copy for your records or your accountant.

Everything your accountant asks for, in one document: the year summary, kilometre totals by category and by purpose, the rates used, and the full trip log. Print it or save it as a PDF and hand it over.
Your name is stored only on this device, like everything else in this app.

🔒 Privacy Policy
Mileage Log — Canada is built to be private by design. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what happens with your information. It is written to align with Canada's PIPEDA principles.
1) What data the app stores
The app stores only what you type into it: your trips (dates, purposes, categories, odometer readings and distances), your vehicle name, your rate settings, a trip you have started but not yet ended, and your name only if you choose to type it in for the accountant pack header. That is all. The app has no accounts and collects no email, address, or any other personal information about you.
2) No location — ever
This app does not use GPS and never records, requests, or stores your location. There is no background tracking of any kind. The only distances in the app are numbers you enter yourself.
3) Where it lives
Everything is stored in your browser's local storage, on this device only. Your logbook never leaves your phone or computer, and there is no Mileage Log server receiving it.
4) What we never do
There are no ads, no analytics on your trips, and no data is ever sold, rented, or shared with anyone — there is nothing to share, because nothing is sent anywhere.
5) Your control
You are in full control. You can edit or delete any trip at any time, and clearing your browser's site data removes everything the app stored. Before clearing, print or save your year-end report as a PDF if you need the record for taxes — CRA expects you to keep your logbook.
6) Children
Mileage Log — Canada is a general utility for drivers and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect information from children — or from anyone.
7) Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will appear on this screen with a new "last updated" date before the change takes effect.

If you choose to sign up for email updates (the "📬 Get updates" button), your email address is sent to and stored on our secure server so we can send you app updates and tips. This is completely optional — the app works fully without it, and all your app data still stays only on your device. We never sell your email. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your email at any time via freeappspot.com.
Optional suggestions
If you choose to send us a suggestion (the "💡 Suggestions" button), your message — and your name and email address if you provide them — is sent to and stored on our secure server so our team can read it and improve the app. This is completely optional. We never sell this information, and all your app data still stays only on your device.
