Privacy Policy — Home Keeper
Home Keeper is built to be private by design. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use this app. It is written to align with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1) What data the app stores
The app stores only what you type into it: your home maintenance tasks, their repeat intervals, the dates you mark them done, your completion history, and any appliances, purchase dates, warranty dates, notes and appliance or receipt/warranty photos you add. Photos are shrunk and stored only on this device, like everything else — they are never uploaded anywhere. There is no account, no sign-up, and no name or email is ever asked for.
2) Where it lives
All of that information lives in your browser's local storage, on this device only. It is never uploaded anywhere. If you clear your browser data or use the "Clear all data" button in Settings, it is gone permanently — we cannot recover it for you, because we never had it.
3) What we never do
We never collect, transmit, sell, rent or share your information. The app has no servers, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers and no third-party code. It works fully offline.
4) Your control
You are in complete control. You can add, edit or delete any task or appliance at any time, and you can erase everything at once in Settings → Clear all data. Because your data never leaves your device, there is nothing on our side to request, correct or delete.
5) Notifications note
Home Keeper shows due and overdue badges inside the app so you can see at a glance what needs attention. If you tap "Turn on reminders", the app can also show notifications on this device when a task is due. These reminders are created on your device only — the app does not send your data anywhere to do this, and it does not collect information in the background. Reminders are optional and can be turned off at any time in your browser or system settings.
6) Children
Home Keeper is a household utility and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
7) Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will appear on this screen with a new "Last updated" date. Because the app stores nothing on servers, any future change could only affect information on your own device.

Optional email updates
If you choose to sign up for email updates (the “📬 Get updates” button), your email address is sent to and stored on our secure server so we can send you app updates and tips. This is completely optional — the app works fully without it, and all your app data still stays only on your device. We never sell your email. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your email at any time via freeappspot.com.
Optional suggestions
If you choose to send us a suggestion (the “💡 Suggestions” button), your message — and your name and email address if you provide them — is sent to and stored on our secure server so our team can read it and improve the app. This is completely optional. We never sell this information, and all your app data still stays only on your device.
